A Prayer: Lord, Help Me See That I Am More Ready Than I Recognize

    Heavenly Father,
Today I come before You with a heart that sometimes feels unsure, unqualified, and unprepared. There are moments when I look at the size of the calling, the weight of responsibility, and the uncertainty of the future — and I question whether I am truly ready.
But Lord, You see what I cannot see.
You know the prayers I’ve prayed in secret.
You know the tears I’ve cried when no one was watching.
You know the battles I’ve survived and the growth that happened quietly beneath the surface.
Father, help me recognize that if You called me, You have already equipped me. If You opened the door, You have already prepared the path. If You brought me here, You have placed something inside me that is stronger than my fear.
Forgive me for underestimating what Your Spirit is doing within me.
Forgive me for comparing my beginning to someone else’s middle.
Forgive me for calling myself unready when You have been training me all along.
Lord, remind me that preparation does not always feel like promotion. Growth does not always feel like progress. And readiness does not always feel like confidence.
    Help me trust that:
The waiting seasons were building endurance.
The setbacks were strengthening my faith.
The quiet seasons were deepening my roots.
When doubt whispers that I’m not enough, let Your Word speak louder.
When fear tries to paralyze me, let faith rise within me.
When insecurity clouds my vision, give me clarity through Your promises.
Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see that I am not stepping into this next season alone. You go before me. You stand beside me. You work within me.
Give me courage to move forward even when I don’t feel fully ready.
Give me boldness to obey even when I don’t see the whole picture.
Give me peace to trust that You finish what You start.
Lord, I surrender my timeline to You.
I surrender my doubts to You.
I surrender my need to feel “perfectly prepared.”
Today, I choose to believe that I am more ready than I recognize — not because of my strength, but because of Your grace.
    Use me.
    Stretch me.
    Lead me.
And as I walk into what You’ve prepared, let Your glory be revealed through my obedience.
    In Jesus’ mighty name,
    Amen.
