Father, I Don’t Know What Tomorrow Holds, But I Choose to Trust You

Life is full of unknowns. Many of us wake up wondering what the next day will bring: joy, struggle, sickness, or blessing? The worry can feel heavy. But you are not alone. God invites us to trust Him even when we cannot see ahead.

Throughout the Bible, ordinary people faced uncertain tomorrows,  and God proved faithful when they chose to trust Him.

Abraham left his home and everything familiar, not knowing where God was leading him. He trusted God’s promise, and the Lord guided him step by step, making him the father of many nations (Genesis 12).

Joseph was sold by his brothers, thrown in prison, and faced many dark days. He had no idea what tomorrow held, but he kept trusting God. In the end, God lifted him up and used him to save his family and a nation (Genesis 50:20).

David, a young shepherd, stood before the giant Goliath with only a sling and stones. He didn’t know if he would live or die, but he declared, “The Lord who delivered me from the lion and the bear will deliver me from this Philistine” (1 Samuel 17:37). God gave him victory.

The Israelites walked through the wilderness for forty years, unsure of daily food and water. Yet every morning God provided fresh manna,  just enough for that day. He taught them to trust Him one day at a time.

These men and women were not perfect, but their simple trust in God changed everything.

– “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

– “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

– “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

– “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34)

If they could trust God in their uncertain seasons, you can too. He sees your tomorrow. He cares for you. He is already there.

Dear Father,

I come before You with an honest heart. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. There are things I fear and situations I cannot control. Sometimes worry tries to steal my peace.

But right now, I make a choice,  I choose to trust You.

You are my good Father. You love me more than I can understand. You know every step of my life before I take it. You hold my future in Your strong and gentle hands.

Help me release my fears to You. Give me peace that calms my mind. Give me strength for whatever comes. Teach me to live one day at a time, believing that You are with me always.

Thank You for taking care of me today. Thank You for the stories in the Bible that remind me You are faithful. Even when I don’t understand, I will trust You.
