Sometimes life can feel like we are limping through challenges—financial struggles, delayed prayers, disappointments, and situations that seem to keep us stuck. But the good news is that God is able to take us from a season of limping into a season of leaping.
One powerful story in the Bible reminds us that God can suddenly change a person’s story.
The Man Who Sat at the Gate
In Acts 3:1–10, Peter and John the Apostle were going to the temple when they saw a man who had been lame from birth. Every day he was carried and placed at the temple gate called Beautiful to beg for money.
There were many people passing through that gate every day, but on that particular day, God singled him out for a miracle.
When he saw Peter and John, the man asked them for money. Instead of giving him silver or gold, Peter gave him something greater.
Peter said:
“Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
Peter took him by the hand, and immediately his feet and ankles became strong. The man who once sat helpless at the gate began walking, jumping, and praising God.
The man entered the temple walking and leaping.
That moment was the end of his limping season and the beginning of his leaping season.
Just like that man, you may feel like you have been sitting at the gate of your breakthrough for a long time. But when God decides to move, He can single you out of the crowd and change your story in an instant.
Prayer: Lord Take Me From Limping to Leaping
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today knowing that You are the God who changes stories.
Lord, every area of my life where I feel stuck, delayed, or weak, I ask that You touch me today.
Just as You singled out the lame man at the Beautiful Gate, I pray that You single me out for Your favor and mercy.
Where I have been limping through life, bring strength.
Where I have been waiting for breakthrough, release Your miracle.
Turn my waiting season into a walking season and my walking season into a leaping season of joy and testimony.
Father, let my life become a testimony that brings glory to Your name.
Like the man at the gate, I declare that I will rise, walk, leap, and praise You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Word Of Encouragement
God has not forgotten you. Even if you feel like you have been waiting at the gate for a long time, your moment can come suddenly.
Just as God singled out the lame man among many people, He can single you out for favor, healing, and breakthrough.
