Open Heavens Devotional October 21 2021 – The Great Physician

    Theme For Open Heavens Daily Devotional October 21 2021 – The Great Physician

    MEMORISE:
    Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
    READ: Numbers 21:7-9
    7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
    8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
    9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
    MESSAGE:
    The advent of sin into the human race brought a lot of calamities into the world, chief among which is sickness. The good news, however is that the Almighty God is also ready to help the human race to get over this. Deuteronomy 7:15 says:
    “ And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.”
    In our Bible reading today, the children of Israel sinned against the Lord and He sent fiery serpents to kill them. After much pleading by Moses their leader, God decided to help them. Numbers 21:8-9 says:
    “And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.”
    Unfortunately, some people refused to look and live that day. The Bible says further “either let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.” (1 Corinthians 10:9). Jesus said that, just as Moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness and all who looked up at it were healed, so also would He save all those who would look up to Him (John 3:14). Jesus has already made provision for our healing through His stripes (1 Peter 2:24) if we look up to Him.
    Beloved, what infirmities are you suffering from? Have you suffered by the hands of physicians to no avail, like the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22)? Put your faith in Jesus Christ today. He is the great physician and will heal you as He did the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9).
    To enjoy divine healing however, you must belong to the Great Physician. The food meant for children cannot be given to dogs or slaves according to Mark 7:26-30. Surrender your life in totality to the Lord Jesus Christ today and He will prove to you that He is indeed the Great Physician.
    PRAYER POINT:
    Father, You are the Great Physician. Please heal all my infirmities today in Jesus’ name.
    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 21-25.

    HYMN 20: PRAISE TO THE LORD ALMIGHTY.
    1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
    O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
    All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near;
    Praise Him in glad adoration.
    2. Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
    Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
    Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
    Granted in what He ordaineth?
    3. Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
    Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee;
    Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
    If with His love He befriend thee.
    4. Praise to the Lord, who, when tempests their warfare are waging,
    Who, when the elements madly around thee are raging,
    Biddeth them cease, turneth their fury to peace,
    Whirlwinds and waters assuaging.
    5. Praise to the Lord, who, when darkness of sin is abounding,
    Who, when the godless do triumph, all virtue confounding,
    Sheddeth His light, chaseth the horrors of night,
    Saints with His mercy surrounding.
    6. Praise to the Lord, oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
    All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him;
    Let the Amen sound from His people again,
    Gladly for aye we adore Him.
