SCRIPTURE: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” – Ephesians 6:17

Yesterday, we established the truth that God’s word should be your spiritual weapon and tool as you journey in this year, 2023. It is your God-given formula for all-round success. It is the living word (Acts 16:14). It is powerful and active (Jeremiah 23:29; John 11:43). It purifies (2 Chronicles 33). It is sharper than any two-edged sword (1 Samuel 21:9 and Acts 2:37). It brings judgement (1 Kings 3:24) and reveals hidden things (Joshua 7:20; Acts 5:1-11). The word of God is loaded with benefits for you!

Also, let the word of God be fire in your mouth and use it to destroy evil plantations, strangers and enemies of your life (Jeremiah 23:29). In Revelation 19, the all-conquering Jesus defeated the beast and the false prophet; He then destroyed the army that followed the beast with the sword that proceeded from His mouth, which is the word of God. Beloved, how potent is the word of God in your mouth today?

The word of God is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17); it is your key for discernment (Hebrews 4:12). Go ahead and use it for exploits this year! In 1 John 2:14, the Bible affirms to you (the believer) that the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the wicked one.

Beloved, there are some decisions that you need to make to transform your life for good and to the glory of God. First, I counsel you to make a decision to love and esteem God’s word more than your necessary food. The Bible says that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Therefore, it is wise to increase the number of memory verses you can quote offhand and use to teach or evangelise. With discipline and consistency, read and complete the one-year Bible reading plan. If you have scaled that level, move on to reading the complete Bible twice a year. Give God’s word pre-eminence in your life.

As you make God’s word to dwell richly in you and give it a place of priority in your life this year, your testimonies shall be ear-tingling and mind-blowing, in the name of Jesus.
