We come to You this morning with grateful hearts and humble spirits. We thank You for the gift of life and for the blessings You have given us. We thank You for the opportunity to begin a new day and for the hope that it holds.
Help us to focus our thoughts on You and to seek Your guidance throughout the day. May Your Spirit lead us in the paths of righteousness and give us strength to do the tasks before us.
Give us insight to recognize the opportunities You have set before us and the courage to take the necessary steps to pursue them. Help us to be mindful of those around us, to show compassion and understanding to those in need.
We pray for Your protection and guidance throughout the day. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Today’s Bible reading January 28 2023
Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.
I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
As for the saints who are in the land,
they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those will increase
who run after other gods.
I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood,
Nor will I take their names on my lips.
Lord, you have assigned me my portion
and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
