Celebrating Serita Jakes’ 68th birthday, her husband , Bishop TD Jakes took to instagram to write:

Happy birthday to an amazing woman, wife, and mother. I honor you first in the areas that are central to the many attributes through which we have so lavishly benefited. Notwithstanding, you’ve been an incredible First Lady to @tphdallas , an entrepreneur, a confidante to many ladies in leadership around the world, and a mother in Zion!

You are a fierce force to me in my life publicly and privately. I couldn’t have been me if you hadn’t been you! Thank you for the many thoughtful things you do. Thank you for the moments you have encouraged me when I was weary. Most of all, I thank you for honoring the call on my life. You aided me when I saw others assume the role of an antagonist, undermining and dismantling their own. Honestly, they helped me to better contrast your exceptionalism.

In my eyes, you are the matriarch of our family and still an absolute fox! After all these years, I’m always proud to walk into any room with you on my arm! I adore you. Happy birthday to the Queen mother!

Also celebrating Serita Jakes birthday, her daughter, pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts wrote on instagram thus:

Sometimes our lives didn’t feel normal. We weren’t just ordinary kids with ordinary parents. We didn’t always know where we fit or with whom to relate.

In a world of abnormal my mother was our constant. Her presence was the pulse we could count on to remind us who we were or were not. She set the tone, not just for my siblings, but I could see her stillness anchoring my father in times of triumph and trial.

She is our rock, strength, joy, and glue. She has made me feel ordinarily human when shame, pressure, and doubt alienated me from grace.

For the life of me I can’t imagine how God took the most extraordinary person and gave her the gift of making love, faithfulness, and grace feel so ordinary.

No matter how easy you make it look – to give and give and give, I know there’s nothing ordinary at all about who you are. Celebrating my #1 Stunna, Ace Boon, and Bestie for the Restie on her special day.

Happy Birthday Queen Rita! I adore you.
