Pastor Joel Osteen Daily Devotional December 27 2024 ‘Don’t Let the Card Fool You”:

    Today’s Scripture

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

    Isaiah 9:6, NIV

    Today’s Word:

We see the Christmas cards of the beautiful manger scene. There’s Mary holding baby Jesus with a pleasant smile, with Joseph looking on. The shepherds are huddled in the background, quietly worshipping the newborn Messiah. The wise men are standing by with their gifts, and the Star of Bethlehem is shining so brightly overhead. But if Mary were here, she would tell you, “Don’t let the card fool you. Yes, it was a glorious night, a holy night. And, yes, I’m honored to have been the mother of Christ, but there are a lot of things you didn’t see. You’re seeing the right moment; you’re seeing the culmination of God’s faithfulness and purpose. But you’re not seeing all the difficulties Joseph and I had to overcome to get to that moment.” She would tell you that you have to be faithful through the difficulties and wrongs, but that God has graced you for everything that you’ll face. God won’t allow a wrong and not give you the strength, the favor, and the endurance to go through it.

    Prayer For Today:

“Father, thank You that You are always working in my life to shape my character and prepare me for the new things You have for me. Thank You for seasons of difficulty where You prove my faithfulness. I believe You are taking me through to be used for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
