Weekly Christian Blog Series: CALLED AFTER BROKENNESS – T.D JAKES

T.D. Jakes – Faithful in Obscurity

Focus: Serving When No One Notices

Bishop T.D. Jake’s journey began far from fame or large crowds. Born into poverty in West Virginia, he was deeply aware of his limitations and the struggles of his community. His early ministry involved pastoring small congregations with scarce resources, often overlooked and misunderstood.
Despite the lack of recognition, Jakes remained faithful to God’s calling. Each sermon, prayer, and act of service in obscurity was a seed planted for the future. In those years, God developed:
    Patience through waiting
    Compassion through observing brokenness
    Wisdom through hidden trials
When God finally instructed Jakes to move to Dallas and start The Potter’s House, he obeyed, despite the risks. Today, The Potter’s House is a thriving church reaching thousands worldwide, a testament to the power of faithfulness in small beginnings.

    Bible Verse:

    > “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” — 2 Thessalonians 3:3

    Weekly Prayer

Father, help me remain faithful even when no one notices.
Teach me that hidden seasons are preparation, not punishment.
Strengthen me to serve quietly, trusting that You see every effort.
May my obedience today shape the harvest tomorrow.
    Amen.

    Reflection Questions:

Am I faithfully serving when no one notices?
How can I honor God in small ways while waiting for His timing?
What is God teaching me in this quiet season?
